So this past weekend I went to Colonial Williamsburg for a few hours with a friend. It ended up being a rainy day but we still had a good time walking around. I also meet up with a friend that I had meet at the place I stayed in Kyoto! He goes to school near there oddly enough and it is easy to get to Williamsburg from Richmond, just 45 minute drive! Anyways on with it...
The Governors Mansion!
We got there roughly at 9:40 in the morning on a Saturday and there wasn't to many people there except for a few in costume doing there thing...
Williamsburg was once called The Middle Plantation...and has had lots of significant value to America and the colonies before we gained our independence from British rule...
If you ever go, you will find lots of small stores with things that you might have found in stores then. You can also eat in some of the taverns that are located along the street but it may not be cheap!

also if you would like you can get a ride in couch/wagon along the streets in Williamsburg.
Lots of brick buildings stand here, and I didn't realize it but a lot of the buildings were re-built with the help of John D. Rockefeller in the late 1800's and early 1900's. It cost $79 million for the reconstruction.
My friend and I were able to see a reenactment of a young boy group marching down the Duke of Gloucester Street playing flutes and drums.
