News: Rejoice, No Efron On The Live-Action 'Akira' Film

News: Rejoice, No Efron On The Live-Action 'Akira' Film

I hope to GOD this information is true!! I really do since it is down the toilet anyways. I just don't want people to get the idea that AKIRA was really like the way this movie/movies is going to play out. Just the creativity from Otomo himself when he wrote the manga, and of course taking a hold of the making of the anime movie. The music was great, the art cells were fantastic and the story was rich with so many characters and it was not suitable for underage people. It really was a shock the first time I watched the movie and proceeded to find the manga and enjoyed that a ton more. Once again for the thousandth time, I recommend watching the movie and reading the manga. More on reading the manga.

Nekocon 2010 Photos

Hey everyone!
Here are the limited photos that I took at Nekocon 2010. Wan't much since I was mostly walking around and looking. There wasn't much going on there and I probably should have taken more photos then normal. Ops. Well I hope you like them!

As you can see I had my Duck tape Waldo out fit on!

Star Fire and Raven from Teen Titans!

My girl friend and I attended the Go workshop on both Friday and Saturday. I'm really rusty and now my girl friend is interested in playing when winter break comes!

Some crowed shot from 2nd floor

More crowed shot. Not that big :P

Not sure her name. But she is from Avatar: Last Airbender

Black Power Ranger beating up some dude...awesome

Rorschach from Watchmen. Was very good with his character all weekend. Very good.

Very cute Kiki from Kiki's Delivery Service!

Not sure but definitely from Sailor Moon, great costume

Grimjaw from Bleach. Oh crap I gotta read this weeks chapter! I'll post that on the Otaku page later too.

Mr. Box? Actually it has the question mark on it so I don't know it could be Solid Snake hiding underneath it!

All of us in line for the Cosplay Contest/Masquerade

Pumpkin Head with a witch rob and broom? I'm down

Mother brought the little one out to meet new people, and all dressed up for battle.

Ryuk and No face...hmm interesting pair, you think?

I was thinking about actually dressing as No-Face to this one too!

Legends of the Hidden Temple. Freaking awesome. Not seen anyone cosplay as contestant before!

Princess Zelda saying in her head, "Who the F#$@ is this Lady Gaga?!?!!?"

Pickachu girl chatten it up with Link, probably hitting the Lost Woods later I guess...

This was creative. Godzilla destroying Tokyo (again)

Good old Sunday. No one here lol and it was like 11:30 am

We missed breakfast back at school so yummy muffin. The only choices were Orange and Banana nut. I like Banana Nut but the girl friend doesn't eat Banana's so we got Orange and was interesting. How doesn't offer Blueberry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Some Otaku girls coming to get last things in the dealers room.

And Rorschach back to inform us the End is "near". It was indeed since it was over that day...

Bye bye Nekocon 2010....!

Over all my girl friend and I had a good time. I tried testing out the new camera but the shots came out weird an fuzzy probably because of the lighting in the convention center. One side is a white wall and the other side of the hall is huge windows that poured in the sunlight and so it always maybe the lighten off. I tried to lighten up some the photos since the shadows casted over the peoples faces!

Girl friend had a good enough time she is thinking about Otakon 2011!! Yippy! I think she would have a great time! I did buy a few things while there like a Master Grade Exia, and two Banpresto DX Figures, one of the Seven Warlords in One Piece and Freeza 2nd form from Dragon Ball Z. And of course 3 Ramune's and a box of mixed Berry Pocky!!

I will take photos of the figures in the next few days but will post those on the Hobby blog, obviously!

Again sorry for the lack of photos and the quality, I guess it was a test run of the camera and I think I understand the settings a little better now! Have a good night everyone!!!!!!!!!

Read it and check all the changes it's crazy.

FireFox 4 Beta 7

Yes, another release that anyone can test. Apparently it is really fast but I am going to stick to my lovely Chrome for now. I say this while I use FireFox but only because I am suing the school's library computers which has it loaded on it. Gay.
Anyways cool stuff. I still have to get my test done and by tomorrow morning for class!!! Oh S%$#.

I have a nice weekend free this coming weekend. I think it is great because I will catch up on all that stuff that I haven't posted and I can get all those photos uploaded and new photos for the Hobby blog!!!

I still need to read Bleach chapter I am assuming it is up now.
Anyone looking into the Nexus S, assumed predecessor of the Nexus from Google?
Anyways, off to class I'll post tomorrow you know it!

Carter Mountain Orchard

As I said a few weeks ago I had gone to Carter Mountain Orchard to pick apples with my mom and dad. The location shown below in Google Maps is south of Charlottesville up on the mountain. They also have a vineyard there too.

A little history about Carter Mountain and then on to my own photos!

The land on which Carter Mountain Orchard sits is rich in Virginia history. According to the Albemarle County Historical Society, The Honorable John Carter, Esquire obtained by grant 9350 acres of land, which embraced the whole of what is still called Carter Mountain, in 1729. Carter was at one point the Secretary of the Colony of Virginia. Upon his death in 1742, his land was given to his son Edward. Edward represented Albemarle County in the House of Burgesses from 1767 to 1769, and in the House of Delegates from 1788 to 1792.
In 1771, in exchange for legal services for Edward Carter, Thomas Jefferson was to receive “as much of his (Carter’s) mountain as can be seen from mine, and 100 yards beyond the lines of sight agreed before Captain Burton” (documented in the papers of Thomas Jefferson). This land is owned by Monticello and is adjacent to Carter Mountain Orchard. The land on which our orchard sits changed hands several times in the past 200 years. In the early 1970’s the Chiles family of Crown Orchard began operating Carter Mountain Orchard, and purchased the land in 1985. The apples were grown for commercial production, and for years were packed and shipped all over the country.
In 1974, we had an almost total freeze-out in our orchards. There was not enough fruit to hire a picking crew or run our packing house. So, we decided to open up the orchard to the public and let them pick what few apples we had. We put an ad in the local newspaper, cleaned out a tiny section of an old barn, set up a card table and a cigar box, and wondered if anyone would come (this idea of “pick your own” was a fairly new concept at the time). Fortunately for us, the public did indeed come. We sold all the fruit we had that year, and called it a success. While we intended to just be open that one year for Pick Your Own, we were quite surprised when the phones began ringing the following fall with folks ready to come back to pick!
This info was from the website cartermountainorchard.com where you can get all the info about the orchard, times and what to pick at the current time. Lots of great information on there. Here is the link. They also have a festival at their mountain.

OK my photos!

There is the main barn down below as to where the registers and the little country store.

It was a fantastic day that Sunday and for being up on the mountain there was hardly a breeze

Charlottesville is down below with the Shenadoah Mountains in the back ground.

Looking to the East back home where the clouds start and head to the Bay, quite amazing

Rows and rows of the Trees. There were the Fuji apples that were ready to pick. Quite tasty for a guy that doesn't eat apples

Plenty of apples everywhere

attempt for an up close photo with the old camera, not bad

Figure I drop this one in

Fuji apple that was quite large like a softball

Fuji apple with a bite out of it from me

Daddy carrying a bag of apples back down the mountain from the Fuji orchard to the main barn

There is mom's head on the right bottom with the barn in the distance.

The pink lady's apples were down here

I didn't really get that many photos but you can click on the photos and go to the main album. I will probably update the photo page to show all of my albums currently.

I hope you enjoy the photos and perhaps I will be able to go back if they really have Peach trees planted then I can go in the summer. Hope you one day go if in the area!

Econ Test 3

Hey everyone. I am at the VCU's Libarary now and just finished up my Econ test three finally. Took a while ..well technically not really done I still need to type it up. I got less then an hour before I have to be at work so I figured I stop by my blog to keep everyone up to date?

How is the weather there? It is actually nicer today and not cold at all it is very nice and maybe I can get spray painting done tomorrow but I do need another can of primer....
I just dropped $37 of gas into the car. While I was away in the Hampton Roads area the price had gone up like 10 cents....insane

That first summer though after I left high school though was ridiculous since it was over $3 a gallon for gas and cost me like $45 to fill the car.

I didn't realize that the 2nd floor library had like 28 inch Mac screens for those Apple fans up here to use. Those things have got to be like $2,000 apiece and the screens are bigger then my TV. That is just nuts. Like I said, not a Apple fan here.

How about the new Windows Mobile? Anyone got a phone that has it on there? They pretty much showed one off in Hawaii Five-O last night haha.
I'm still watching The Event, House, Hawaii Five-O and now this week Burn Notice and Psych are coming back on! Booya!
I am looking forward to the new chapters that come out this week as well but I am trying to balance all the things I want to do with what I need to do like this test and all these other group projects.

I think I will have a lot of me time this weekend and I can get photo editing done this week so I can put those albums up online for you guys to finally see. Same with the Nekocon photos even though I really didn't take that many pictures when I was there. Photo shoots will need to be done on some figures and such for the hobby blog. In the Gundam Plastic Model world there hasn't been much things other then the shows last month which covered a lot of great releases that are coming out.

Well I better walk to my car now and eat these sandwiches that I have made and get changed and get into the "Place-of-Work!"

Got to pay off what I spent at Nekocon of course!!
